(KLZA) The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded $300,000 in Non-Profit Operating Assistance grants through the Nebraska Affordable Housing Program to four community and housing development organizations statewide.
Each individual award encompasses three years of operating expenses. The organizations and award amounts include Southeast Nebraska Community Action Council, Inc. (SENCA), based in Humboldt.
SENCA will use $75,000 to continue building capacity to engage in new and additional affordable housing programs and services encompassing Cass, Johnson, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson and Sarpy counties.
Currently SENCA operates a gap financing/down payment assistance with minor housing rehab project, and an owner-occupied housing rehab project.
