(KNZA)--Life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25-years.
That's the sentence handed down in Jackson County District Court for a 29-year-old man convicted of sex crimes with his own daughter.
William C. Darnell had previously been convicted of crimes against the minor child, but had been placed on probation.
According to Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller, it was during that time that Darnell confessed to sexual crimes against the child that had not previously been revealed.
With Jackson County Sheriff's deputies confirming the confession, Darnell was charged with aggravated criminal sodomy on June 4th, and later entered a plea of no contest on September 27th.
On Friday, Darnell learned his fate in Jackson County District Court; and, along with the life sentence, he will have to register as a sexual offender for life.
If Darnell is ever released on parole, it will be under supervision for life.
