Steamboat Trace to Close for Deer Season
11/01/2012

(KTNC) - The Steamboat Trace Trail will close for this month’s firearm deer-hunting season.  The Nemaha Natural Resources District will close the entire 22-mile trail to all users – including hunters – from November 10 to November 18.
The trail closure is meant to protect the safety of those who would otherwise be on or near the trail.
NRD officials emphasize that hunting and the possession of weapons is never allowed on the Steamboat Trace Trail – which stretches from just south of Nebraska City to south of Brownville.  Anyone found on the trail while it is closed will be ticketed.
The trail will also be closed for the late firearm deer-hunting season, from December 26th to January 18th.
