(KNZA)--The Brown County Sheriff's Department alerts their counterparts in Jackson County about a suspicious vehicle and it's occupants Sunday morning; and, it's a short time later that two arrests are made by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department in connection with the tip.

It happened shortly before 7:45 Sunday morning when a Jackson County Deputy spotted the southbound white Chevy Blazer just North of Holton.

When the attempt to stop the vehicle was made, the driver refused to pull over and sped away.  However, the pursuit came to an end near 6th and Idaho in Holton, with 34-year-old Maple Hill resident Daniel Smith and 45-year-old Angela Brown, of Topeka, both arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail.

Smith faces charges of felony possession of marijuana, fleeing and attempting to elude police, criminal possession of a weapon, reckless driving, driving on a suspend license, no proof of insurance, illegal registration and several traffic infractions.

Brown faces a charge of felony possession of marijuana.

Bond for both is pending.

The Holton Police, and a Jackson County Sheriff's K-9, both assisted with the incident.
