No Injuries in Hiawatha House Fire

 ( KNZA )---No injuries were reported in a fire early Saturday morning at a Hiawatha home.

Fire Chief Bill Roland says firefighters were called to the William Snider residence located at 521 Kansas Avenue shortly after 12:30.

Roland said Snider called 911 after he woke up and smelled smoke.  

He said the fire was contained to the laundry room with the rest of the home receiving some smoke damage.

An exact cause or damage estimate wasn’t available.

Roland says firefighters remained on the scene until about 2 o’clock Saturday morning.
