(KNZA)--Funeral arrangements are now planned for the 59-year-old Hiawatha man killed last month when the pick-up truck he was traveling in was struck by a train.
Services for Therman “Tee” Turner are being handled by Hiawatha's Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, with a time of sharing, and visitation with the family, to be held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Scheduled for 3 until 5:00, a short service is also planned to be held.
A memorial fund in Tuner's honor remains in place at the Citizens State Bank in Hiawatha.
Turner, known for his love of motorcycles, which he often used in local fundraisers for various causes, died on the morning of October 29th, along with 18-year-old Veronica Hogle, when the truck they were in was hit by a train on the railroad crossing just west of Hiawatha's Kestrel road.
The Kansas Highway patrol says the truck failed to stop at the crossing; but, due to the extent of devastation arising from the wreck, remains unable to say who was behind the wheel of the truck at the time of the fatal crash.
