(KNZA)--A non-profit economic development foundation is being proposed for Doniphan County.
Northeast Kansas Enterprise Facilitator Teresa McAnerney discussed the concept with the Doniphan County Commission this week.
McAnerney said individuals and trusts could leave donations to the foundation, which could be used to retain current business and grow existing business within the county.
Commissioners express support for the proposal, and asked McAnerney to present them with a written concept plan for their review.
The Commission agreed to explore options for economic development within the county before hiring an economic development director.
