(KMZA)--The Nemaha Central Board of Education heard a report on the ACT scores taken by students in the class of 2015 during their regular meeting last week.
The Board was told the average composite score was 22, slightly over the state average of 21.9. The averages in English, Math, Reading and Science were the lowest in the last five years.
High School Guidance Counselor Brianna Evans and High School Principal Pat McKernan said that although not alarmed, staff will be reviewing ways to help students be better prepared for the test.
Thirty-nine students took the test in 2015 compared to 54 in 2014 and 50 in 2013. It was pointed out that the lower number of students in the testing pool can also affect the average scores.
