Council Hires Firm to Design Fairway Addition Improvements
The City of Seneca is moving forward with infrastructure improvements for the Fairway development.
The city council Wednesday evening voted to accept a bid from the engineering firm, Wilson and Company of Salina, to design the water and sewer system infrastructure to serve the development on the west side of town at a cost of $29,886.
The city hopes to attract businesses to the former old golf course property.
In other business, City Administrator Tami Haverkamp says the council voted to sign an agreement with the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency for the purchase wholesale electric power, contingent on all details being finalized prior to February 1st.

The council last month decided to issue a notice of intent to withdraw from the Kansas Power Pool, effective December 31st, 2013, due to a cost increase.
