Landoll Corporation is seeking a ten-year, 100 percent tax abatement for an expansion project in Marysville.
Representatives of the company met with the Marshall County Commission this week to discuss the project.
According to the Marysville Advocate, the company plans to construct a 32,000-square-foot addition to an existing shop along Pony Express Highway.
The company says the project will provide expanded manufacturing and assembly areas along with room for improved storage and distribution.
In a letter to commissioners, the company says the expansion is necessary because of the overwhelming acceptance of their new vertical tillage equipment and increased orders for their conventional tillage equipment.
With the expansion, Landoll expects to add 20 new employees during the first year and an additional five employees the second year. The company currently employees 833 people.
The building project is anticipated to cost more than one-million dollars, plus $4,000 for industrial machinery and equipment.
The company hopes that construction will be completed by August.
The commission voted to hold a public hearing on February 13th at 10 a.m. in the commission room to consider the abatement request
