Richardson County Commissioners Meet
Richardson County Commissioners heard an update on the Falls City Main Street program from Adam Morris and Tony Brunette during their Tuesday meeting. A request was made for the County to continue with their funding proposal of $5,000 per year for a three-year period. No formal action was taken on the request, which will be tabled for consideration.
Falls City Chamber Executive Director Richard Martin met with the Commissioners seeking approval for use of the Courthouse grounds for several planned events this year. Martin will present the Board with a list of the events as they are confirmed.
Bob Linden of Grace/Mayer Insurance of Omaha met with the Board regarding the County’s request to obtain insurance for Richardson County. No action was taken. Tara Stephenson, Blue Cross / Blue Shield representative with NACO met with the Commissioners to inform them of upcoming training sessions and informational meetings for the new plan that begins July 1st.
Commissioners accepted a letter or resignation from Della Meyer from the Richardson County Planning Commission and thanked her for her service since 2000.
A grant application to be submitted by the Nemaha Natural Resources District for multi-county household hazardous waste collection events this fall will be supported by the Board.
Highway Superintendent Scott Huppert and Sheriff Randy Houser also met with Commissioners.
