(KAIR) -- There are several events occurring in Atchison on Sunday to honor area military veterans.
A program conducted by the Fleming-Jackson-Seever American Legion Post 6, will take place at 11 on the Atchison Riverfront.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Memorial Hall in the 800 block of Commercial Street.
The Legion will offer a free lunch for veterans after the program.
The Benedictine College Music Department's Symphonic Band will present “A Remembrance Concert” at two in the O’Malley McAllister Auditorium to honor those who have served in the armed services.
The concert highlights the sacrifice and incongruity of armed conflict through the juxtaposition of Sousa Marches, Poems and speeches from World War I and World War II, mixed with video of the conflicts.
Admission is free and all are invited to honor the sacrifice of those who gave the ultimate gift for their country.
The Atchison Elks will offer their annual free dinner and program for veterans will begin at six.
