Memorial Day Observances Planned in Southeast Nebraska

(KTNC) - Memorial Day commemorations are planned at several locations around the area. 
 The Memorial Day program will be held at the Rulo Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. Monday, with Retired Army Colonel, Dr. Chick James, as the guest speaker. 
 A program will be held at Steele Cemetery in Falls City at 11:00 a.m. Monday, with speaker Brian Daake of the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
 Boy Scouts, veterans’ organizations and color guards will participate in both programs.
 A public Memorial Day service will be held in the Humboldt City Park, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Monday.  Legionnaires should meet at The Meeting Place at 10:30 a.m. for rehearsal.
 Janet Olsen, the District Commander for District 13 of the Nebraska American Legion, will be the speaker at Pawnee City’s Memorial Day service, scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
 Services planned Sunday at area cemeteries include:
-At 3:30 p.m. at the Czech National Cemetery southwest of Humboldt.  Joe Stehlik will be the speaker.
-At 12:15 p.m. at the Bohemian Cemetery east of Table Rock.
-At 1:00 p.m. at the Table Rock City Cemetery.  In case of rain, the Table Rock services will be combined and moved to the Legion Hall at 1:30 p.m.
-At 11:00 a.m. at the Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery west of Steinauer.
-At 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Cemetery east of Steinauer.
A community Memorial Day Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the DuBois Cemetery.
 Also, volunteers will be available to help find graves at the Heim Cemetery in Dawson from 8:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
