(KAIR) -- The Atchison Area American Red Cross blood drive to honor the victims of the Bartlett Grain Elevator explosion stayed overtime to finish their drive.
They stayed until seven Monday evening and were able to collect 46 units of blood.
One of those donors was Doctor Chris Hansen.
He says it’s a very worthwhile activity.

Director Kim Bottorff says while they came short of the goal of 60 units, one pint of blood saves three lives, meaning that 138 lives were saved with Monday’s drive.
