11/02/2012

(KAIR) -- A 73-year-old Atchison man has now been found competent to stand trial on a child sex charge.

Norman Longbrake had been undergoing competency testing at Larned State Hospital after being found incompetent to stand trial in June.

As a result, his jury trial on the charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child that was put on hold is back on for December 4th.

He pled not guilty to the count in April.

Longbrake is accused of allegedly engaging in unlawful sexual conduct with a nine year old girl in January of this year and was arrested on February 14th.

He remains in Atchison County jail on 200 thousand dollars bond.
