Saint Louis Man Pleads Guilty to Vehicular Burglary
11/02/2012

(KAIR) -- A 49-year-old Saint Louis man pled guilty to amended charges Friday in Atchison County District Court.

James Bonar pled guilty to one count of vehicular burglary.

In exchange, a misdemeanor theft charge was dismissed.

Bonar was recently extradited to Atchison County on an October 2011 warrant where he and another individual broke into a vehicle in Atchison.

Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson says the reason for the delay to face Atchison County Charges stem from Bonar being apprehended and convicted of separate charges in Buchanan County and was given five years in prison.

Wilson says a search warrant of a residence in Saint Joseph weeks after the case began, executed by Saint Joe Police, discovered stolen items in the residence believed to belong to victims in the Atchison case.

A co-conspirator in the case, Scott Parker of Saint Joseph, was convicted of vehicular burglary in Atchison County District Court in June and sentenced to a year in prison.

Sentencing is scheduled for November 30th.

Bonar remains in Atchison County Jail on 10 thousand dollars bond.
