(KLZA)-- Falls City School Board members received a number of updates during their Tuesday evening meeting.
Merle Veigel and Board member June Bowers were recently re-appointed to the Falls City Education Foundation. Melvin Harmon will serve as the Foundation President with Merle Veigel as Treasurer and School Board Member Ed Harris serving as Vice President.
Falls City High School teacher Kris Simon and students Savannah Davis and Faith Zimmerman shared information with the Board about the new School Closet program. This program is having a positive impact on students by providing access to donated clothing items and is gaining support and popularity.
It was also reported that a donation of more than $800 from the Class of 1956 was used to purchase items for North and South Elementary Schools. New classroom flags, document cameras, CD players, electric pencil sharpeners and Magic Moves Electronic Wands for interactive brain breaks were purchased.
The Board also did first readings on policy revision recommendations on negotiations, Sex Offenders and Family Medical Leave.
