West Water Line Project Discussed by Auburn City Council
03/17/2014

(KLZA) -- The West Water Line Project that has been discussed for Auburn in recent years came back to the Auburn City Council for discussion last week.

Stephanie Fisher, Chair of the Community Redevelopment Authority Committee in Auburn placed the item on the agenda. A wide range of topics was discussed including possible benefits of a new water line.

Mayor Scott Kudrna said a break in the current water line serving the west edge of Auburn in January was of concern to a number of entities in that area including the Auburn School District, Nemaha County Hospital, Auburn Family Health and Good Samaritan Center.

A recent update to the cost estimate for the new line increased by about $100,000 to $600,000.  The new line has been up for approval with various funding options several times but has not been constructed.

There was no action concerning the water line following the discussion.
