06/12/2014

(KLZA)-- The Auburn City Council heard an update on the Airport facilities and activities when they met this week.

Jay Hauserman, with the Auburn Airport Authority talked about a possibly building another hangar for aircraft at the airport located east of Auburn.  Currently there are eight hangars for planes at the Auburn Airport.  In order to continue receiving federal funding, an airport must have 10 plains based at the facility.  The Airport Authority is looking at partnering with the City of Auburn to build another hangar, possibly big enough to house four plains.

Hauserman says there are several plains on a waiting list for a hanger at the Auburn Airport.

The Auburn Council also approved a resolution to attempt to sell the 1995 Pro-Trail recycling trailer no longer in use.  The minimum price would be $1,000.  Signage to the entrances to Auburn continues to be discussed and a couple of drawdowns on housing rehab projects were approved.

Council members did approve the expenditure of $4,500 from KENO funds t o purchase banners and brackets for the Christmas season to be hung in the downtown area.  The Auburn Chamber is also considering banners for use during the rest of the year.
