Atchison County Seeking Long-Term Bridge Plan

(KAIR) -- Atchison County Commissioners on Wednesday were seeking a long-term plan on bridge replacements in the county.

Commissioner Jeff Schuele says they would like to see Road and Bridge Supervisior Matt Dorssom come up with similar guidelines to which roads are improved per year.

Commissioners also finalized the solid waste fee forms that will be mailed with citizen’s property tax statements.

The board also gave verbal approval earlier this week to replace copper internet data lines with a voice over internet protocol system, or VOIP.

Schuele adds that after the first five years, annual savings would be 30 thousand 586 dollars.
