11/05/2012

(KTNC) - More children in Richardson County will receive a gift this Christmas, thanks to donations collected during Sunday’s Jingle Bell Ride in Falls City.  This marked the sixth year SENCA hosted the event.
Three teams of horseback riders, along with carolers, left from the Shopko parking lot to canvass Falls City to collect donated toys Sunday afternoon.
Sherry Huddleston helped coordinate the Jingle Bell Ride and says riders had many more stops this year than last year.   (play audio  :16)
Huddleston explains the gifts will be given to children as part of SENCA’s holiday baskets.  (play audio  :12)
Riders left the Shopko parking lot at 1:30 Sunday afternoon, and returned in a procession through downtown Falls City about two hours later.
As part of Sunday’s event, people also enjoyed refreshments – including hot dogs and chili – for a free will donation.
