That’s Superintendent Loren Feldkamp.
He says Hurst’s mother, Irene, still lives in Valley Falls near the school.

So after learning that Irene Hurst had remained without answers for over 40 years, Feldkamp went to work to help her out.

Feldkamp says the annual program has grown over the years, due to the strong presence of military veterans in the community.
