ACCJSHS Congratulates 2023 King and Queen of Courts

Atchison County Community Junior Senior High School congratulates the 2023 King and
Queen of Courts and their court, who were crowned during halftime of the boys’ varsity
basketball game Friday, February 17, 2023. Matthew Worley was crowned King of Courts and
Emme Smith was crowned Queen of Courts. Rounding out the royal court were candidates
Dalton Damon, Dylan Mullins, Natalie Navinskey, and Jenna Pitts. Assisting with the crowning
were representatives of the ACCHS Student Council and Cheerleaders, and announcer,
Student Council President Emili Postma.

Richardson County Spelling Bee Winners

The Richardson County Spelling Bee was held on the evening of February 14th at the Falls City Middle School gym.  The first place students will go on to compete at the state level on March 18th at UNO. 

 
The winner of the 5th and 6th grade division was 6th grader Andrea Vollmer from Falls City Sacred Heart.  Finishing in 2nd place was 6th Grader Catherine Carter of Falls City Middle School.  Third place went to 5th Grader Paighton Pohlman of Falls City Middle School and fourth place was captured by 5th grader Wyatt Nussbaum of Falls City Sacred Heart. 
In the 7th and 8th grade division, finishing in first place was 8th grader Isabelle Nussbaum of Falls City Sacred Heart.  In second place was 8th grader Hayden Clow of Falls City Sacred Heart.  Third place went to 8th grader Bowdy Jones and fourth place went to 7th grader Burke Wissman both from Falls City Middle School.

Hiawatha Public Schools-USD 415 is feeling joyful at Hiawatha Public Schools-USD 415.

Congratulations to the Hiawatha Red Hawk Forensics team who took 6th Place Saturday out of 25 schools at the Rock Creek Invitational.

All our Hawks did an amazing job and we know they will continue to improve and grow!

Levi Fleagle placed 4th in Prose qualifying him for State Champs & Festival!

Remmy Killman placed 4th in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI)!

Olivia Hawks placed 5th in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI)!

Again well done to the entire team who shared their talent today and keep putting in the time and effort to help our team soar!

Royal Valley HS Scholars' Bowl

On Saturday, February 11, the Royal Valley HS Scholars' Bowl team traveled to Russell, Kansas to compete in the 3A State Tournament. RVHS finished 4th in the state tournament!

On Saturday, February 11, the RVHS Scholars' Bowl team traveled to Russell, Kansas to compete in the 3A State Tournament. RVHS finished 4th in the state tournament!  

¨We went there and played good. We lost to some good private schools, but it happens,¨ said Jaemon Smith, senior member of the team

Charger All-Stars winners for the month of January.

USD 430 Taya Nelson and Alex Meyers got to enjoy a sweet treat today from Scoops and Smiles. They were chosen as the Charger All-Stars winners for the month of January.

Veteran's Valentines from Peru Students

Recently, SAIL (Students Active in Leadership) made approximately 70 valentines that were mailed to the Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha. The Valentines will be delivered to patients.  SAIL members wanted to reach out our Veterans on Valentine’s Day to let them know they appreciate their service and dedication to our country.

 

Participants included (of all four), Becca Traeger (Bennet, NE), Bernie Hilker (Omaha, NE), Naw Eh Bue (Lincoln, NE), and Junie Rose (Lincoln, NE).

ACCJSHS King and Queen Candidates

Atchison County Community Junior Senior High School is pleased to announce the
candidates for 2022-23 King and Queen of Courts. Queen candidates are Natalie
Navinskey, daughter of Todd and Kerry Navinskey; Jenna Pitts, daughter of John Pitts
and Jamie Moser; and Emme Smith, daughter of Trever and Lisa Smith. King candidates
are Dalton Damon, son of Thad and Kathy Damon; Dylan Mullins, son of Ronnie and
Jane Mullins; and Matthew Worley, son of David Worley and Rebecca Worley. The
crowning ceremony will take place Friday, February 17, 2023, in the ACCJSH Gym, at
halftime of the boys’ varsity basketball game against Oskaloosa.

Clay Goodman Wins Big Time!!!!

Clay Goodman from Mayetta at the gateway farm show in St. Louis . Got 1st in the 1/64 display and got 1st in peoples choice display. Pretty happy with his awards….

Royal Valley 2nd Place Win!!!!

With a 2nd place finish at 3A Regional Scholars’ Bowl, Royal Valley HS has qualified for State!! Congratulations!

Ravens Win!!!!

RAVENS WIN! The MH-MA Ravens Scholars Bowl team went 10-1 on the night, taking 1st Place in the 3A Regional Tournament, earning them a trip to the state tournament! Congratulations Ravens!

The  Nemaha Central Thunder Thespians took 1st place at Sabetha tournament January 28th at the 2023 season opener.
