ARC Wild Now Licensed

ARC Wild is now a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility in Northeast Kansas. We have a volunteer staff of seven licensed rehabilitators serving Brown, Atchison, Nemaha, Jackson, Doniphan and Marshall counties in Kansas.

In the spring of 2023, Dennis Dinwidee (Director of North East Kansas Wildlife Rescue and Director of Education at the Topeka Zoo & Conservation) asked Sherri McNary to expand ARC Wild to include management of wildlife rehabilitators in the northeastern counties of Kansas. ARC Wild team of licensed wildlife rehabilitators includes Sherri McNary, Wendell Ganstrom, Connie King, Daniela Rippe, Dr. Jessica Stallbaumer, Clint Tegtmeier and Trina Earl. Each has invested their time and talents to provide a place of rehabilitation and ongoing education to thousands of people in northeast Kansas.

ARC Wild also continues to provide education. The wildlife rehabilitation side is an expansion of services. I'd be happy to send you more information  or answer any questions if you are interested in doing a story. This is a really big step forward in our mission.

Hiawatha Student Paige Mueller Found Her Passion!!!!

Hiawatha High School student Paige Mueller decided to take a chance when an opportunity to job shadow at a local radio station was offered at her school. She wasn’t sure it would interest her, but she gave it a shot.

Mueller’s voice is now heard over the airwaves throughout northeast Kansas. And through Jobs for America’s Graduates-Kansas (JAG-K), she has found her passion.

JAG-K provides opportunities for students to explore careers through employer engagement relationships. Through camps, job shadowing, work opportunities, etc,, JAG-K Career Specialists help students line up applications, interviews or whatever else they need to obtain those experiences.

At the start of her sophomore year, Mueller heard that Kanzaland Radio Station in Hiawatha was looking for someone to assist with sports broadcasts. The offer did not appeal to her immediately.

“At first I didn’t think it would be anything I was interested in,” Mueller said. “But then I sort of got a feeling I should give it a try. I got thrown right into it.”
