Ruthanna Marlatt, 91 of Atchison, KS, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Atchison Hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS, with Rev. Russ Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Atchison, KS. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Mt. Ruthanna was born on December 29, 1925, in Warrensburg, MO, the daughter of Morton and Cecilia (Flynn) Hazell. She was a housewife, but also the bookkeeper for her and her husband’s business, Marlatt Construction. Ruthanna in her younger years enjoyed bowling and water skiing. She also enjoyed traveling to Africa and going to the casinos. Ruthanna loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruthanna married Lester Martlatt on March 1, 1947 at the First Christian Church in Olathe, KS. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2009. Survivors include two sons, Tom and Susie Marlatt, Atchison, KS, Steve and Patty Marlatt, Atchison, KS, a daughter, Shirley and Charles Cline, Atchison, KS, a daughter-n-law, Karen ( Marlatt) Hardesty, Peoria, IL, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Morton Marlatt and a granddaughter, Madison Marlatt.

STACEY L. PIPKINS KANSAS CITY, MO- Stacey Lynn Pipkins, 51, of Kansas City, MO passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She was born December 20, 1965 in Topeka, KS the daughter of Gerald Charles Haag and Mary Lou (Slocum) Haag. Stacey graduated from Seaman High School in 1984. She had lived in Kansas City, MO for 12 ½ years and previously in Las Vegas, California and Indiana. Stacey worked for over 30 years in banking. She began as a teller and later served as assistant manager and branch manager. Stacey had a kind and loving heart, a great sense of humor and held a special place in her heart for animals. Survivors include her mother, Mary Lou Link of St. Joseph, MO; her brother, Charlie Haag of Topeka, KS; her step-mother, Mary Ann Haag of Topeka, KS; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Jimmy Dean Stevens, 72, Valley Falls, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka. He was born July 12, 1944, at Atchison, the son of Scottie Francis and Marian Hosford Stevens. Jimmy was a warehouse man at the Ft. Leavenworth US Army Base, retiring after working there for 25 years. He had worked for many years for Jefferson County Public School at Denver, CO. He was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. He married Maralene Crawley April 28, 1973, at Lakewood, CO. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelley Renee Lopez, Jan. 3, 2003. Survivors include his wife, Maralene, of the home; four sons, Barry (Dezerie) Stevens, Broomfield, CO, Ed Crawley, Morrison, CO, Flint Crawley, Arvada, CO, and Todd Crawley, Ozawkie, KS; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow at the Winchester-Wise Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Carolyn Strasil of Falls City died Friday January 13, 2017.
A memorial service for Carolyn Strasil of Falls City will be Saturday Morning at 11 at the First United Methodist Church in Falls City.
There will also be a Memorial Service held at Stephanie’s house in Independence, MO on Saturday afternoon at 1.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Falls City.

Lloyd Lavelle Wilson, 84, Cummings, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016.
Family visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 pm, Tuesday, January 3, 2017, followed by a 3:00 pm Memorial Service at the Cummings Christian Church, Cummings, KS. Lloyd was born July 5, 1932 in Atchison, KS, the first born son of Charles Everett and Madeline Zeta (Barber) Wilson. Lloyd graduated from Atchison High School and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Lloyd married high school sweetheart, JoAnn (Dolly) Jones on December 24, 1953 in Rushville, MO, spending the next 63 years of life traveling the globe as a result of his fulfilling mechanical engineering career in aeronautics. 45 years later, they returned home to Kansas, settling in Cummings, near many beloved relatives.
Survivors include his wife: JoAnn, of the home; two daughters, Llory Wilson (Philip Morley), Port Townsend, WA and Joni Rene (Rocky) Johnson, Cypress, TX; four brothers, Darrel (Rosalie) Wilson, Creston, IA, Gary (Mary Lou) Wilson, Cummings, Charles (Barbara) Wilson and Harold (Elva) Wilson, both of Atchison, KS; four grandchildren; Jacob (Danielle) Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Dashiel Morley and Tuula Morley. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and youngest sibling, Zeta Gordon.
