William Raymond “Bill” Klatt, 67, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born March 7, 1954 in McPherson, KS, the son of Raymond William and Laura (Pauls) Klatt.
Bill graduated from Moundridge High School in 1972, and continued his education graduating from Kansas State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He had lived in Valley Falls for 8 years, and previously in McPherson, KS. In his younger years, Bill was Rancher for 2 years at Crested Butte and Gunnison, CO. He later became a Federal Meat Grader working in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Lastly, he finished his working career as a Forman of the Machinists at Wear Technology for Milacron, Inc. in McPherson, KS.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valley Falls and a member of the Machinist Union.
He married Lois Toews in 1973, they later divorced. He married Debbie Shade in 1982 and they later divorced.
Bill married Brenda E. Smith-Vineyard on April 29, 2006. They celebrated over 14 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda of the home; 3 children, Dr. Heather Klatt of Joplin, MO, Bradly Klatt (Lori) of McPherson, KS and Jessica Wolf (Austin) of McPherson, KS; step-son, Ryan Kimberlin (Carrie) of Meriden, KS; 2 sisters, Kristi Morgan (Richard) of Moundridge, KS and Cheryl Ayer (Boyd) of Wichita, KS; 3 grandchildren, Rylan Klatt, Wyatt and Stella Kimberlin and “one on the way”.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2012 at McPherson Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mask are requested. J. Margaret Bishop, 91, of Lee’s Summit, MO, formerly of Rushville, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Lee’s Summit.
Due to Covid, a Graveside Funeral Service will be 2:30 PM, Sunday, March 7, 2021 at the Sugar Creek Cemetery with Rev. Keith Hoover, officiating. A celebration of life memorial will be planned for a later date where the public will be invited to attend. Friends may come by the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 to 5:00 or Sunday from 9:00 to 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Margaret are suggested to the Sugar Creek Ladies Aide and may be sent to the Becker-DyerStanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave, Atchison, KS 66002. Jessie Margaret Lawrence was born on June 9, 1929 in Rushville, the daughter of Byron and Alice (Hargrove) Lawrence. Margaret graduated from the Rushville High School and was a life-long member of the Sugar Creek Christian Church and the Sugar Creek Ladies Aid. Margaret was devoted to her family as a homemaker, mother and grandmother. Margaret and Joseph Berriman ‘J.B.’ Bishop were married on March 10, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, J.B.; her sister, Jean Pepper. Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Phil) Page of Lee’s Summit, MO and Michele (Mark) Trompeter of Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren, Jay Page, Aaron Page, Tyler (Julia) Page, Lindsay (Cody) Boynton, Amy Trompeter, and Kyle Trompeter; sister, Jane Ann Cox and sister-in-laws, Ann (Bishop) Brewer and Charlene Bishop
