Larry Dale Hladky, 59, of Holton, KS, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Holton Community Hospital as a result of a vehicle accident. He was born July 9, 1960 in Onaga, KS, the son of Bailey E. Hladky and Rose M. Moore.
Larry graduated from Holton High School in 1978, after high school he attended Kaw Valley Vo-Tech. He worked at Bud’s Tire in Holton and then owned and operated Larry’s Tire Service for several years. He also worked for J-6 Pig Farm in Corning and was a farmer/stockman.
Larry was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He had been a member of the Holton Jaycees Club and was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the Mayetta Fire Department.
He married Pamela S. Jackson, they later divorced. He married Shawna R. Pence on October 22, 2016 in Holton; she survives of the home.
Other survivors include his parents Bailey “Boots” and Rose Hladky of Soldier, KS; a son Larry Michael Hladky (Rochelle) of Lawrence, KS; a daughter, Brandy N. Davidson of Topeka, KS; 4 sisters, Lisa L. Allen of Soldier, Esther K. Essary of Holton, Sherri A. Immenschuh (Larry) of Soldier and Jada L. Nicklay of Muskogee, OK; a brother, Roy J. Hladky (Gertrud) of Germany; 4 stepchildren, Joe Russell of Holton, Amy L. Russell of Lincoln, NE, Kristina Chaney (Matt) of West Des Moines, IA and Lisa Russell of Holton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. A private family burial will be at a later date in the Olive Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Larry Hladky Memorial Fund c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436. Katherine Mae Overfield Lear, of rural White Cloud, died February 26, 2020 at The Pines South in Hiawatha, Kansas.
She was born to Verner and Rose (Gladhart) Overfield on May 3, 1923 on a farm in Irving Township, Brown County. She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1941 and then graduated from Highland College in 1943. Katherine taught in several schools in Brown County before she married Carl Lear on September 7, 1947. They moved into their home on the Lear farm soon after and remained there until October 1996 when they moved to Hiawatha.

Junior Fritch, 87, formerly of Table Rock, Nebraska passed away on Monday, February 17, 2020, at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska.
Born: November 20, 1932 in rural Table Rock, Nebraska
Died: February 17, 2020 in Humboldt, Nebraska
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the United Methodist Church in Table Rock, Nebraska with Pastor Howard Blecha officiating.
Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020, at the United Methodist Church in Table Rock, Nebraska. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the church
Interment will be at the Bohemian Cemetery east of Table Rock with full military honors conducted by Table Rock American Legion Post #289.
Memorials contributions may be given to Table Rock American Legion Post #289 or Bohemian Cemetery Fund.
