Jack B. Vandiver, 81, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, June 1, 2026, at Amberwell Atchison.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Atchison Humane Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Jack was born January 3, 1945, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Jack W. and Mary (Bluma) Vandiver. He attended Washington Elementary School and graduated from Atchison High School in 1963.
He and Joyce Goehner were married March 6, 1965, at First Christian Church in Atchison, Kansas.
Jack was not just a talented mechanic, but was the Best Mechanic, working mainly on transmissions, having even owned his own shop in St. Joseph. He enjoyed fishing and was a talented bowler.
Survivors include his wife Joyce (Goehner) Vandiver, a son, Joseph Vandiver, two daughters, Cheryl Wagner, Rebecca (William) Keimig, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Johnson.
