Janice M. Morelock, 67, Atchison, Kansas died Monday, April 22, 2024,, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life will be Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. The family will host a reception at Jackson Park following the services. Janice has been cremated under the care and direction of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.
Janice was born September 12, 1956, in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Joseph J. and Gladys Hansen Bewley. She attended Atchison Public Schools and later received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate in Kansas City, Kansas in 1995.
She was employed with Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas for seven years. She formerly worked at Lansing Correctional Facility and later served as a bartender for Atchison Elks Lodge and the American Legion Club Room in Atchison.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Brandy Cummins, Topeka, KS; two sons, Norman “Nick” Ford, Jr., Atchison, KS; and Robert “Jamie” Ford, Atchison, KS; two sisters, Judy Stiffler, Rushville, MO; Janey Grebe, St. Joseph, MO; and one brother, Gary Bewley, Atchison, KS; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and longtime friends, Henry Goodpasture, Darren “Elmo” Kastens, Miriam Donovan, Shelia Heintzleman.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her longtime friend Henry Goodpasture and son-in-law, Jake Cummins.
