Alice G. Nielson, of Barnard, MO, died Monday at the age of 85.
Funeral services for Alice Nielson of Barnard, MO, will be Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Barnard Methodist Church in Barnard, MO.
Burial will be at the American Legion Cemetery, Barnard, MO.
Visitation will be Friday (Oct. 30th) evening from 6 to 8 at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
Memorials: Barnard Untied Methodist Church, Barnard, MO, or to the family to establish a memorial scholarship in Alice's name at the South Nodaway School system, Barnard, MO.

Vera "Faye" Baker ( August 26, 1950 - October 20, 2020 ) Vera "Faye" Baker, 70, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. She was born on August 26, 1950 in Severance, Kansas the daughter of Marion and Nellie Wilson George. Faye graduated from Midway High School in 1968. She was a member of the Horton United Methodist Church. She was employed as a Data Specialist for Dekra Safety until she retired. She married David Phelan to this union was born one daughter, Amy and a son Kevin. They were later divorced. Faye then married Dale Baker on May 25, 1994 in Miami, Oklahoma. Dale preceded her in death on November 7, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Kevin, three brothers, Keith, Bill, Richard, two sisters, Linda and Wilma. She is survived by a daughter, Amy Guliford; two step-sons, Allen (Brenda) Baker and Terry (Samantha) Baker; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; siblings, Loree (Jay) Christensen, Tom George, Mary Ellen Wood, Larry George, Gary (Re) George, Charlie (Renee) George and numerous nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at he Horton City Cemetery on Saturday, October 24, 2020. Memorial may be made to the Horton United Methodist Church and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Evelyn “Evie” “Byed Wedmokwe” Kelty Hopkins, 79, of Mayetta, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at her home in Mayetta with family by her side.
She was born May 5, 1941 in Tomahawk, WI, the daughter of Garnett Potts and Lillian Kelty. She attended high school in Tomahawk, WI and later obtained her degree in Canada as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Evie had worked at Rainbow Casino in Nekoosa, WI for 11 years, was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at PARR House for 7 years and most recently for Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribal Gaming Commission as a Gaming Inspector beginning February 2011 until present.
She married William Hopkins and he preceded her in death in 1991.
She is survived by: her children, Carla Youngbear of Tama, IA, Bill Hopkins, Sr., Darrick Hopkins, Ronnie Hopkins and Tony Hopkins (Lana) all of Moraviantown Ontario, Canada, Paula Hopkins, Scott Hopkins (Kelly) and Cheryl Hopkins all of Mayetta, and Sheila Eichinger (Tom) of Olathe, KS; her sisters, Yvonne Kelty of Black River Falls, WI, Alice Potts, Rose Potts and Micki Martinez all of Mayetta; her brothers, Ronald Kelty of Lac Du Flambeau, WI, Myron “Jim” Potts and Benny J. Potts both of Mayetta; and her 31 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Rosemond Tecumseh, her brothers, Ralph “Porky” Tecumseh and Byron J. “BJ” Darnall and her grandson, Nigel Hopkins.
Evie will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, beginning Thursday, October 15, 2020 until 6:30 p.m., through Saturday, October 17, 2020 until noon. Private services will be held at a later date. To leave a special message for the family, visit www.mercerfuneralhomes.com.

Dale B. Schneider, 81, Atchison, Kansas, died Friday, October 9, 2020, at his residence with his family at his side.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Benedict’s Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Parish and Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited on Wednesday, at 10:30 A.M. with visitation to follow until time of mass. All attending please wear a mask. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Benedict Catholic School Endowment, St. Benedict Catholic School, St. Benedict Parish or NEK Hospice and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Dale was born January 29, 1939, in Nortonville, Kansas, the son of Charles W. and Ida Oleva Good Schneider. He attended St. Joseph Grade School in Nortonville and graduated from the Nortonville High School.
He and Theresa E. Wohletz were united in marriage on January 19, 1963, at St. Benedict’s Church in Atchison, Kansas.
Dale served with the Atchison Fire Department for thirty-one years, from 1959 – 1990, where he began as a firefighter and worked his way through the ranks eventually serving as a Captain/Platoon Commander. During his years at the department, on his days off he was employed at Cooper’s Foundry, for Luther Campbell – Atchison Construction and later with Mike Hundley – Hundley Construction. After retiring from the fire department he worked as a custodian for Atchison Catholic Elementary School and St. Benedict’s Church. He was a self-employed painter and refinished woodwork in several historic homes in Atchison.
He was a member of St. Benedict Parish where he formerly served as a Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of Atchison Elks Lodge and the Sacred Heart Council #723 of the Knights of Columbus and the William T. Jochems General Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years, Theresa Schneider of the couple’s home in Atchison, KS; three daughters, Catherine (Jon) Mitchell, Liberty, MO; Lori Jones, McPherson, KS; Angela (Nathan) Haberichter, Wichita, KS; two brothers, Ralph Schneider, Mound City, KS; Patrick Schneider, Rossville, KS; two sisters, Evelyn Bernica, Topeka, KS; Elizabeth “Betty” Coleman, Valley Falls, KS; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Talley and four brothers, Kenneth Schneider, Richard Schneider, John Paul “Jack” Schneider and Harold Schneider; half brothers, Charles and Edgar and a half-sister, Ellen.

Alice Faye Holcomb, 72, of Holton, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 in Topeka.
She was born June 30, 1948 in Madisonville, KY the daughter of Brank and Gracie Pearl (Gates) Duvall. Alice graduated from Earlington High School in Earlington, KY then attended Cosmetology College. Later she went to nursing school and obtained her LPN. She had worked as a cosmetologist in Kentucky and later an ER nurse also in Kentucky and North Carolina. When she moved to Holton in 1994, she helped to establish the Cardiac Rehab Clinic at Holton Community Hospital. She also had worked for Hallmark Cards in both Topeka and Lawrence from where she retired.
Alice was a member of a Baptist Church in Traphill, NC, a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary, #44 Mary L. Blair and was a charter member of the American Legion Riders Post 44.
On April 5, 1985 Alice married Michael C. Holcomb in Dawson Springs, KY. He survives of the home. Other survivors include: her children, Shane Duncan (Joy) of Topeka, KS, Clinton Duncan of Holton, KS, Jason Duncan (Marti) of Morton’s Gap, KY and Ashley Boyle of Hiawatha, KS; her sister, Shirley Oldham of Dawson Springs, KY; her brother, Jerry Duvall (Claudia) of Earlington, KY; her grandchildren, Tyler, Tosha, Chandler and Kendall Duncan, Ian Lee, and Katie and Jensen Boyle; and her great-grandchild, Tylin Martin.
A celebration of Alice’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 16, 2020 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Evelyn Grace Colhouer, 86, of Holton, KS, passed away October 2, 2020 at The Pines in Holton. She was born March 26, 1934 in Wetmore, KS, the daughter of John Wesley Bontrager and Edna Lenora Porter.
Evelyn graduated from Holton High School in 1952. She worked many years at American Savings in Holton; retiring as Branch Manager.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Alpha Circle, Banner Grange, Holton Business Women and Holton Country Club.
Evelyn married Ivan Eugene Colhouer on September 20, 1953 in Holton. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1999, after 46 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert W. “Bob” Colhouer; 3 sisters, Thelma Lewman, Faye Bohnenkemper and Vivian McCauley and 6 brothers, Donald, Claude, Harry, Roy, Clayton and Robert Bontrager.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Brock (Clint) of Holton, KS; 2 granddaughters, Nikki Brock and Makayla Slocum (Lane); 3 grandsons, Jared Brock (Annie) and Dalton and Dakota Colhouer; 4 great-grandchildren, Bodhi and Lila Brock and Carsen and Conner Rinkes and brother, Jack Bontrager (Dixie) of Whiting, KS.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Holton Cemetery.
